Tina Craig worked as an Insurance Agent for an Independent Agency from 1983 to 1985 when she and her husband ventured out to start their own Independent Insurance Agency in Auburn, WA., Tina M. Craig Insurance Agency, Inc. After being in business for one year Tina gained the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor by passing five two hour written exams. The exams covered Life, Health, Property, Casualty, General Liability and Agency Management. Tina M. Craig Insurance Agency wrote insurance coverage with Safeco, American States, North Pacific and Fireman's Fund to name a few. Their agency wrote all lines of business including personal and business. The entire staff grew to 13 people when the Craig's decided to sell and move to this beautiful paradise we call Lincoln.
Tina M. Craig Insurance Agency, Inc. was a member of the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce and received the Retailer of The Year Award in 1996 out of 1600 businesses being considered. It was such an honor.
While growing the agency, Tina was a proud member of the Auburn area Soroptimist International for 15 years. She served as President of the 63 member Soroptimist club from 1995-1996 preparing and running weekly meetings to promote the objectives of the Auburn, WA. Soroptimist Club as well as the International objectives which both focused on women and children's issues.
Tina served as a member and president of the Auburn Fire Medic Committee from 1989 to 2000. This committees mission was to enhance the quality of rescue and emergency medical services to the citizens of Auburn, WA. In February of 2000, the Auburn Fire Department honored Tina by awarding her the Distinguished Public Service Medal for outstanding service to civilians that had significantly contributed to the chief fire service goals of protecting life and property.
